The Position

We are looking for a Marketing Director who will be a strong brand steward with great relationship management and organizational skills and a desire to work directly with senior leadership to create meaningful change.

This role requires someone who is enthusiastic about the research that underpins the work of Brené Brown Education and Research Group (BBEARG) and driven to deliver high-quality digital content while creating a meaningful experience for our community.

Location: Central Houston, TX

Hours:  Full time position, including some evenings and weekends.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership to understand strategic priorities and develop supporting marketing plans
  • Execute against these marketing plans and report results to the leadership team
  • Lead the marketing team, providing direction, mentoring and oversight for:
  • The development, execution, and assessment of the content we share with our communities via social media, blogs, and emails
  • A marketing content schedule that provides a consistent heartbeat for our community and is aligned with our strategic priorities
  • Social media presence (FaceBook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Pinterest)
  • Outbound email campaigns via Hubspot
  • Continuous analysis of website content, social media and email performance
  • Organization and maintenance of all company digital assets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our creative design partners and serve as our primary liaison with these teams
  • Leveraging the design and creative skills of our design partners, provide all design elements needed for website development, website content, social media, email campaigns, and all other business assets
  • Ensure all external and internal assets are aligned with our brand strategy
  • Collaborate with the Team Directors’ group, both providing and leaning in for support, guidance, and feedback to ensure all teams are working well together
  • Perform other related responsibilities as requested
  • All work should to be carried out in a manner consistent with the Company’s values, ethics and business practices

Required Skills and Experience

  • Five years of digital marketing experience with a proven track record of success
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with content-driven and email marketing strategies and common practices
  • Expert knowledge of social media and marketing platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Pinterest, as well as Hubspot
  • Experience using SEO strategies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, specifically the ability to adjust tone and nuance
  • Confident, driven and dynamic leader with the skills to deliver both as a team leader and individual contributor
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. Ability to be flexible and change direction/priorities quickly based on business needs
  • An undergraduate degree in Communication, Marketing or related field
  • Willingness to travel (less than 10%)

Salary commensurate with experience.
