AAF Dallas & Ad 2 Dallas Receive National Honors

The American Advertising Federation, a national trade association, announced Wednesday, April 17, 2019, club awards throughout the fifteen AAF national districts. AAF Dallas is part of the AAF Tenth District which is comprised of Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Texas.

Advertising clubs are divided into five divisions based on membership size:

Division I     500+ members 
Division II    250–499 members 
Division III  100–249 members 
Division IV   Up to 99 members 
Division V    Ad 2 Clubs
AAF Dallas received second place for the highest national award, Division 1 AAF National Club of the Year. With more than 200 AAF clubs, this is a true honor to place 1st or 2nd in each National category. With First Place awards for Club Operations, Membership Development, and Diversity & Multicultural Initiatives. Dallas awards included Second Place for Public Service, Advertising Education, Communications, Government Relations, and Programs. In 2018, AAF Dallas received first place for the Division 1 AAF National Club of the Year.
Ad 2 Dallas received six awards including first place for Government Relations, second place for Diversity & Multicultural Initiatives, Membership Development, and Public Service, along with third place awards for Club Operations, Communications, and Programs.
AAF Dallas: Division I recipient of highest ADDY entry increase.
In addition, annually the American Advertising Federation recognizes clubs which have participated in the AAF American Advertising Awards and had substantial increases in entries.  The club in each AAF division with the greatest percentage increase year-over-year in total number of entries will have their AAF annual dues 100% waived for the following year, and receive special recognition at the annual conference, ADMERICA in Hollywood, Florida in June 2019.  Division I recipient is AAF Dallas. 

Collectively, the American Advertising Federation Tenth District clubs will be recognized with thirty awards.

AAF Dallas is celebrating the 3rd annual Shining Stars awards program which honors top women in Dallas advertising. In 2017, we launched our AAF Dallas Shining Stars program to celebrate amazing women doing amazing things in Dallas advertising. Inspired after attending the Southwest Advertising Hall of Fame event, we googled “top women in Dallas advertising” and the result was “The 10 Most Beautiful Women in Dallas” instead of finding women who are producing thought-provoking and innovative work, breaking through barriers to create something new, or forging partnerships that drive growth. We believe ambition, work ethic, creativity, and leadership are qualities to celebrate and elevate. We believe when you get 25 incredible women in a room, great things happen. We believe it’s time that the nation recognizes our city as the talented advertising market that we are…and so the AAF Dallas Shining Star program lives on. See last year's group here

The AAF Dallas Shining Stars Gala presented by SMU Advertising will be held at The Bomb Factory on May 23, 2019. Dress code is formal. Table reservations will begin on April 12, 2019. DALLAS – AAF Dallas was awarded the AAF Tenth District 2019 Large Club of the Year. AAF Dallas was also awarded first place in Diversity & Multicultural Initiatives and Communications. The organization is comprised of 2,000 members, 21 Board of Directors and led by President Crystal Gonzales and Executive Director, Allison Farris.

The AAF Tenth District is comprised of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Northwest Louisiana. AAF Dallas is one of the largest organizations within the District.

One of the American Advertising Federation’s major objectives is to recognize excellence and encourage high standards among industry professionals. The National Club Achievement Competition is designed to recognize outstanding accomplishments of its affiliated advertising clubs and to showcase the programs and projects that these clubs undertake each year.

The AAF's Club Achievement Competition recognizes local advertising clubs for their initiatives in advertising education, communications, club operations, diversity and multicultural initiatives, government relations, membership, programs and public service. The competition was established to honor the significant contributions of the AAF network of professional advertising clubs and to encourage excellence in areas of club operations that contribute to the strength of the AAF's member clubs.

In 2018, AAF Dallas won the AAF Tenth District and National 2018 Large Club of the Year. AAF Dallas will be represented at the AAF national conference, ADMERICA, in Hollywood, FL from June 5-8.
